Standard Bank supports replacement of the UP’s sports hall rooftop

Standard Bank supports the replacement of Maxixe Pedagogical University’s sports hall rooftop, in Inhambane, which was totally destroyed by the cyclone Dineo on 15 February.

To this end, the Bank recently delivered a check for 400,000,00 MT (four hundred thousand Meticais) to that institution of higher education, which offers several courses related mainly to education, in the presence and distance education systems .

As explained by the Standard Bank Maxixe branch manager, Jair Ismael, the replacement of the sports hall rooftop is relevant since it served not only the Pedagogical University but also the community.

"It is in this context that we are here today to deliver our contribution to help your institution recover from the damage caused by cyclone Dineo," said Jair Ismael, who also referred to the Bank's willingness to help wherever is possible and whenever requested.

In her turn, Crisalita Djeco, deputy director of Pedagogical University, Maxixe delegation, acknowledged Standard Bank’s support, which, he said, came in a upright time considering the importance of the sports hall for the community.

“O pavilhão, para além de ser o local onde o corpo estudantil e a comunidade praticam o desporto, essencial para a saúde, serve igualmente para acolher a comunidade sempre que ocorrem calamidades. Muitas famílias afectadas pelo ciclone Dineo estiveram aqui abrigadas”, explicou Crisalita Djeco.
