The Standard Bank Group ("SBG") is Africa's largest banking and financial services institution.

The holding company is based in Johannesburg. South Africa, and is listed on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange as Standard Bank Group Limited.

The Standard Bank Group - Africa Network

Stanbic Africa Banking Group ("Stanbic Africa") has banks in 19 other African countries outside South Africa, making it one of the largest banking operations on the continent. The services provided by the various Stanbic Africa operations range from retail banking to corporate and project finance, treasury, trade finance and commercial banking.

Standard Bank SARL ("SBM") has an extensive track record and is regarded as one of the local market leaders. It has been operating in Mozambique for over 100 years.

SBM's network is one of the widest in the country. It covers every major city and town in Mozambique 18 out 34 branches are within Maputo city.

Economic Briefing 2013: Mozambique, a story of growth

Under the theme “Mozambique, a story of growth”, Standard Bank held on 18 April at the Hotel Polana in Maputo, the usual Economic Briefing, to provide its clients and the national market with trends of the national and global economy in order to guide them in decision making, in addition to show the “expertise” of the Bank in various specialty areas.

Standard Bank in the SME Conference

Standard Bank was represented at the conference by a stand to promote and sell products and services. The conference was on “Opportunities of credit for investment in SMEs-Small and Medium Scale Enterprises and the role of insurance,” which occurred on April 18, at the Joaquim Chissano Conference Centre in Maputo.
