Chuma Nwokocha is the new Managing Director of Standard Bank
Adimohanma Chukwuma Nwokocha, better known as Chuma Nwokocha, is the new Managing Director of Standard Bank Mozambique, replacing António Coutinho, who will now head Standard Bank Angola, in the context of the Standard Bank Group’s practice of executive rotation.
Chuma Nwokocha, who has a Masters in Business and Management, joined Standard Bank in 2005 as Chief Financial Officer, having later become Chief Operating Officer, where he coordinated the activities of the Operations Department, the Finance Department, the IT and Communication Department and the Marketing Department. From 2011 to the date of his appointment, he has worked as Head of Personal and Business Banking.
António Coutinho's transfer to Angola comes after 15 consecutive years as head of Standard Bank Mozambique, during which this banking institution has contributed significantly to the growth of the national economy, financing major projects in the telecommunications, construction, agribusiness, manufacturing, mining and infrastructure sectors.
