Treasury Bills are short-term public debt securities issued with 91-, 182- or 364-day tenors whose purpose is to finance the State’s treasury shortfalls.
Treasury Bills are issued by the IGCP – Agência de Gestão de Tesouraria e da DívidaPública (the Treasury and Public Debt Management Agency) and placed in the Primary Market by a group of banks acknowledged by the IGCP as Treasury Bill Experts (EspecialistasemBilhetes do Tesouro, “EBT”).
