Standard Bank is the second largest contributor in 2016

Standard Bank was recently distinguished by the Tax Authority of Mozambique as the second largest contributor in 2016, in the category of Corporate Income Tax (IRPC) settled on profits, and at the financial sector level, it was the largest contributor In this category.

This is the second consecutive year that Standard Bank receives the second main payer award in this category, among all the country's taxpayers, and has also obtained an Honorable Mention for its tax contributions from the Mozambican Tax Authority.

Standard Bank's managing director, Chuma Nwokocha, said that full tax compliance is Bank policy and, as such, Standard Bank performs its tax obligations on time and in accordance with established procedures.

"It is in the Bank's interest that the fulfillment of the fiscal norm is integral, fully complying with its obligations as a national taxpayer, acting as a driver of growth and economic development, as well as social equality," he said.

To this end, as highlighted by Chuma Nwokocha, the Bank will continue to work together with its tax advisors, always seeking advice from the Mozambican Tax Authority.
