Standard Bank named Best Investment Bank

Standard Bank has just been nominated for the third time in a row as Best Investment Bank of Mozambique as result of a growth of 4.8 per cent of the total investment income .

This award, at this time attributed by Global Finance magazine in the prestigious EMEA Finance Achievement Awards is a reflection of the intrinsic and unquestionable knowledge by this bank, of culture and business practices in Mozambique, combined with experience and leadership in the capital markets and in all areas of corporate banking and investment.

In the set of business and transactions carried out by the Bank between 2014 and 2015, particular attention goes to partially finance the construction of a new bottling plant to expand the soda production capacity, in Maputo province.

In addition to this business, is the funding for rehabilitation of facilities of a Mozambican company engaged in the transportation, distribution and sale of natural gas produced in Mozambique.

According to Chuma Nwokocha, Managing Director of Standard Bank, this award symbolizes the bank's effort to "be centered on the customer and provide customized solutions for each project or need, using the most sophisticated financial tools available."

On the other hand, André du Plessis, Head of Corporate and Investment Banking, considers that the award is a recognition for the highly qualified and experienced team of Investment Banking "by their focus on the origination and structuring of business and the strengthening relationships with customers." 

It should be noted that the EMEA Finance publication is directed to the financial community in Europe, Middle East and Africa, which includes presidents and top executives and other financial officers responsible for making investments and strategic decisions in large companies and financial institutions.
