Standard Bank offers internships to the best students
As part of its commitment to the development of education in the country,
Standard Bank has offered internships to 4 of the 11 best high school students, prize winners of the III Education Gala, held on the 19th of November, in Maputo.
This initiative aims to complement the academic education of students with a practical component. The students awarded were: Paulo Nguenha, from Mateus Sansão Muthemba Secondary School, in the province of Sofala; Jéssica Feijão, from Tete Secondary School; Graciano Cumaquela, from the Alto-Molócue Pre-College, in the province of Zambezia and Januário Mondlane, from Chonguene Secondary School, in the province of Gaza.
During the event, organized by the Academic Community for the Development of Education (CADE), the Head of Human Resources at Standard Bank, Hélia Campos, said that the Bank “is committed to the development of education, reason why it has been involved in many different projects in the sector, particularly with CADE”.
By offering internships - as mentioned – the objective is to “create empathy between students and employability, in other words, to contribute to the exposure of the graduate students to the professional reality in an institution internationally recognized such as Standard Bank”.
The III Education Gala also served to honor the companies that have most contributed to the success of education. Standard Bank was of the awarded companies.
The 2010 edition of the Education Gala counted with the presence of the First Lady of the Republic of Mozambique, Maria da Luz Guebuza, the Minister of Education, Zeferino Martins, representatives of the diplomatic corps, as well as many other political and business individuals.
