Standard Bank presented country's potential for investment in Nigeria
Standard Bank Mozambique presented the potential for investment that the country offers at a trans-regional conference held in Nigeria from 2 to 4 July to promote trade between African countries.
To participate in the meeting organized by the Standard Bank Group, which was attended by government leaders and the most prominent investors in the continent, the bank took a group of 11 Mozambican businessmen representing the transport, food, financial, technology and other sectors of major importance to the socio-economic development of the country.
By taking the group of national businessmen, the bank wanted to give them the opportunity to interact with investors from other parts of the African continent and expand their business in order to leverage the national economy.
During the event, there was a space dedicated to promoting the potential of Africa's strategic relationship with China in realizing the continent's full potential for growth through investment and trade between the two peoples.
It should be noted that in this area, Standard Bank Mozambique initiated the conversion of Meticais into Yuan (Chinese currency) in April 2017 with a view to facilitating commercial transactions between Mozambique and China.
In fact, direct import invoices in Chinese currency (Yuan) are now paid in this currency, avoiding additional exchange rate costs.
The trans-regional conferences of the Standard Bank Group began in 2016 with the aim of developing the capacity of the African continent to support and expand intra-African trade.
They demonstrate Standard Bank's commitment of building financial and infrastructure ecosystems to realize Africa's full cross-border potential; support sustainable growth, job creation and wealth in each country on the continent as well as push for a deeper integration of African markets into the global economy.
It also translates Standard Bank's capacity in Mozambique and in the whole African continent of providing universal financial services that help individuals, companies and countries move forward.
