Standard Bank shares experience with young university students
As part of its extensive Corporate Social Involvement program, Standard Bank participated as the official partner in the Global Fair, organized by AIESEC
on October 5, in order to bring the students closer to the corporate environment, creating job opportunities and spirit of entrepreneurship.
During the Fair, Standard Bank intended to share experiences from the business world with the young participants and offer them the opportunity to be able to be part of a prestigious institution such as Standard Bank.
Speaking on the occasion, under the theme: “Proactiveness and Global Thinking”, Standard Bank’s representative, Fáusio Mussa, said “we chose this topic because we want to instill in students the fact that they can only make a difference in business and society in general if they adopt a proactive attitude and if they open their horizons, and adapt global solutions to solve local problems”.The bank’s chief economist also indicated that “Standard Bank has entered into this partnership with AIESEC, because on its Corporate Social Involvement program, the bank has set education as its main area of intervention and more than that, this partnership exists because Standard Bank believes in the AIESEC project, which aims to foster leadership potential in young people through international internships and creation of global learning environments so that they can have a positive impact on society”.
In her turn, Sílvia Ferreira, president of AIESEC Mozambique, said that the main purpose of the fair is to bring the young students closer to the business market as “we feel that the youth has to be better prepared for the challenges of the market”.The Global Fair, held on the campus of the Eduardo Mondlane University, also had an exhibition of various products and services, with the participation of several companies and embassies as well as included workshops, which generated an interactive training environment.
