Standard Bank supports "OpenDoors" scholarship program
For the fourth consecutive year, Standard Bank supported MayFair, an annual event organized by the American International School of Mozambiqu –AISM. This year’s edition aimed to raise funds for the OpenDoors Scholarship project that benefits Students from public secondary schools in Maputo.
At the event held on May 13th, in the AISM premises, Standard Bank also promoted its services especially accounts opening on-site, an initiative that is also part of the ongoing Current Account campaign.
In addition to this service, the bank has exposed its wide range of digital channels, such as NetPlus, NetPlus App, Quiq, ATMs for deposits, Digital Kiosks, as well as the customer care hotline.
In coordination with the Matola Chess School and with the purpose of massifying chess practice in schools, a movement supported by the bank, Standard Bank also promoted training of this modality for children who attended MayFair, allowing entertainment between them and their parents.
After visiting the bank's exhibition, accompanied by a relative, Benaia Muadzi, a bank client, couldn’t hide her satisfaction with the service provided at the place, which explains, as she stated, the reason why she had chosen to bank with Standard Bank in Mozambique.
"I accompanied my cousin who came to open an account and took the opportunity to learn about the necessary criteria to acquire the Gold card," she said. "While my companion was able to open the account, I got the explanation on what it takes to get the Gold card," said Benaia Muadzi, adding that "Standard Bank is the best bank in Mozambique. I like its service because, as shown here, it is fast, efficient and easy. "
Vasco Fumo, who played a chess match with his own son, said that "Standard Bank and Matola Chess Academy initiative is very good. It is a quite useful asset for families. "
According to this MayFair attendant, "having a chessboard available to the public today is very rare, so congratulations to the bank and the academy for the initiative."
Under the "OpenDoors" project framework, the bank directly supports a selected student at Francisco Manyanga Secondary School, through the payment of a scholarship granted in 2014.
