Standard Bank takes Education Fair to Pemba

Standard Bank supported for the first time, between 30th and 31st of July, an Education Fair at Pemba city.

The event consisted in an exhibition of academic and vocational training opportunities existing in the province of Cabo Delgado, for the students of secondary, technical and professional education levels and the public in general was organized by the Academic Community for the Development of Education (CADE), in partnership with the Ministry of Education and Human Development.

The branch manager of Standard Bank in Pemba, Francisco Conde, stated during his speech at the opening ceremony that with this simple step that puts Pemba in one of the most prestigious events of education in the country, Standard Bank reaffirms its commitment to continue to invest in the education sector as part of its corporate social involvement.

Also as part of the efforts that Standard Bank develops in order to leverage the education sector, this year, in partnership with the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the bank will support the implementation of the National School Games Festival in the city of Pemba”, he concluded.

On behalf of the governor of Cabo Delgado, João Motinho, referred to the fact that the initiative complements the Government’s efforts aimed at reaching an education that develops skills and fits well in the second priority of the Five-Year Government Programme for 2015 -2019.

It should be noted that prior to the city of Pemba, Nampula hosted between 23 and 24 July, the VII Provincial Education Fair, also organized by CADE with the support of the bank.
