The 1st edition of the Standard Bank Children’s Tournament ended, Saturday, March 9, with the achievement from the Complete Primary Schools of Sikwama, Matola “J” and Mussumbuluco in the city of Matola, as the big winners of the event, in men, in the categories of Traquinas (aged between 8 and 10 years), Benjamins (from 11 to 14 years of age) and Petizes (aged between 6 and 7 years), respectively.

In an initiative integrated in the corporate social responsibility context, Standard Bank has offered a total of 200 kits, consisting of several toys, and an equal number of baskets containing basic foodstuffs essential to sick children and their caregivers in the various wards and services of the Jose Macamo General Hospital, in Maputo.

The first of the two days dedicated to Young Designers on Mozambique Fashion Week (MFW), the most important fashion event of the country, was remarked by an innovative contender named “Dress me according to Standard Bank”.

Standard Bank, the only commercial bank with over a century in Mozambique, officially reopened its branch in Beira, city of the central Mozambican province of Sofala, on November 9th, 2012.The extensive effort to rehabilitate the agency is estimated at one million U.S. dollars and lasted 10 months.

Standard Bank has just introduced in the domestic market two innovative financial products, namely “FX option” and “Contract for Exchange”, with the aim to cover the risk of the exchange rate for importers and exporters who have investments in national or foreign currency, in addition to operators who hold different currency liabilities of its revenues.

The foundation stone for the construction of the new headquarters of Standard Bank was launched in Maputo last Thursday (November 8th).
