Standard Bank and FSDMoç-Financial Sector Deepening Mozambique, a program funded by DFID-UK Department for International Development, signed a memorandum of understanding on Wednesday 15 February in Maputo aiming to increase the Levels of access and use of financial products and services in Mozambique.

In the context of the celebrations of the 30th anniversary of Samora Machel’s death, the first president of Mozambique after the independence, Standard Bank promoted on 20 and 21 October this year, in Chilembene village, in Gaza province, the free issuance of a total of 3,670 identification documents, including biometric identity cards (IDs), personal notes, birth certificates and NUITs – Taxpayer identification number.
To provide better services to customers with comfort, speed and quality, Standard Bank opened recently a new branch in Nacala city, Nampula province, whose official opening took place last Tuesday, 27 September.
Under the citizenship project, promoted by Standard Bank, a total of 3,851 identification documents, including biometric Identity Documents (IDs), NUITs - Single Taxpayer Identification Number, personal identity documents and birth certificates were issued for free, between September 27 to October 2, in the city of Nacala, Nampula province.
