Standard Bank awarded on February 11th the soccer team Ferroviário da Beira and União Desportiva de Songo, as the champion and deputy-champion of Moçambola 2016 edition, the main soccer competition in the country, which involved a total of 16 teams.
Standard Bank visited on December 9th, hospitalized children in the nursery and paediatric wards of the José Macamo General Hospital, in Maputo, aligned with the “Solidarity Christmas” initiative, as part of the corporate social responsibility intervention of the Bank.

In the context of the celebrations of the 30th anniversary of Samora Machel’s death, the first president of Mozambique after the independence, Standard Bank promoted on 20 and 21 October this year, in Chilembene village, in Gaza province, the free issuance of a total of 3,670 identification documents, including biometric identity cards (IDs), personal notes, birth certificates and NUITs – Taxpayer identification number.
To provide better services to customers with comfort, speed and quality, Standard Bank opened recently a new branch in Nacala city, Nampula province, whose official opening took place last Tuesday, 27 September.
Under the citizenship project, promoted by Standard Bank, a total of 3,851 identification documents, including biometric Identity Documents (IDs), NUITs - Single Taxpayer Identification Number, personal identity documents and birth certificates were issued for free, between September 27 to October 2, in the city of Nacala, Nampula province.
Standard Bank was recently nominated the best Investment Bank of Mozambique, by the EMEA Finance magazine, in the African Banking Awards 2016.
This is the fourth consecutive time the bank receives this distinction, with the third time awarded by the Global Finance Magazine.
The award is a testimony of the commitment of the oldest commercial bank in the country to boost the Mozambican economy, as demonstrated by the extended funding provided to key sectors of the economy, the quality of the advisory mandates won, and the sophistication of financing structures provided to customers over the last four years.
Standard Bank Mozambique was recently acknowledged in the World's Best Securities Services Providers 2016 awards, by the prestigious magazine Global Finance. The award confirms Standard Bank as being the Best Sub-custodian Bank in Mozambique.
